ABOUT
Laura Doherty is a Clinical Psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She is also a Board-approved Psychology supervisor.
Laura has experience working within public and private hospitals in various inpatient and outpatient teams. She has experience providing group and individual treatment with adults. Using a warm and compassionate approach, Laura has an interest working with people who experience a range of difficulties including stress, anxiety, depression, managing life adjustments, emotion dysregulation, identity issues, impulsivity, and relationship issues.
Laura's therapeutic approach is collaboratively tailored to each client's individual needs and treatment goals. Laura's primary treatment modalities are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She is committed to her ongoing development and training.
Laura works on Tuesday and offers face-to-face and telehealth appointments.

MEDICARE REBATES
Medicare rebates are available for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. The rebate for a Clinical Psychologist is $141.85
To be eligible for the rebate, you will need to be referred by a GP or Psychiatrist. As part of this process, your GP will prepare a "Better Access" Mental Health Care Plan. Once completed, your GP will either send these documents to Laura Doherty Psychology or provide you with the referral. If the referral letter has been provided to you, please bring this along to your first appointment.

PRIVATE HEALTH REBATES
Many private health insurance companies also provide rebates for individual therapy. Private health rebates may be available depending on your level of cover. Please check with your health fund provider for more details.
